Western Downs Press Conference

Omega Oil and Gas Limited welcomed Minister for Natural Resources and Mines, the Hon. Dale Last MP, to Marubeni-Itochu Tubulars Oceania Pty Ltd’s Dalby South Yard pipe yard this morning, part of the Taroom Trough project supply chain, alongside Omega CEO and Managing Director Trevor Brown, Western Downs Regional Council Mayor Cr Andrew Smith, IOR CEO Drew Morland, and MITO Managing Director Hakim Messoussa.The visit and press conference highlighted the role the oil and gas sector plays in the Western Downs: the jobs it creates, the regional industries it supports, and the local supply chain that underpins it, including IOR, providing transport, aggregation and refining capability.Discussion centred on the Taroom Trough, one of Australia’s most prospective oil and gas basins, and the opportunity for Omega to develop significant new volumes of oil and gas, delivering energy security for Australia right here in Queensland.The visit coincided with the Queensland Government‘s 2026-27 Budget commitment of $19 million to the Queensland Fuel Security Plan, with a focus on unlocking the Taroom Trough, where Omega is preparing to begin its next drilling campaign.

AmCham Panel Taroom Trough: Bigger than Texas?

Last week Trevor joined Queensland’s Minister for Natural Resources and Mines Hon Dale Last MP, Coordinator-General Gerard Coggan, and senior leaders from Halliburton, SLB and Shell QGC, presenting at the American Chamber of Commerce in Brisbane. The impressive panel was moderated by Queensland Resources Council CEO Janette Hewson, and gave a rare opportunity to hear government, operators and global services perspectives on the Taroom Trough in one room.

Local Artist | Chris McKenzie

On a recent visit to Surat, Omega Oil and Gas Limited CEO & Managing Director Trevor Brown had the chance to meet local artist Chris “Macca” McKenzie and take in his extraordinary large-scale installation, a stunning corrugated iron mural weaving together the Maranoa’s pastoral, agricultural and energy heritage into a single breath-taking work. Remarkable in detail by day, the mural truly comes alive when lit up against the night sky. It captures exactly what makes this region worth investing in, a deep sense of place, history, and community pride, and is one of the many reasons Omega is proud to call the Taroom Trough home.

CEO and Managing Director Trevor Brown joined an outstanding line-up at the AEP Conference for the panel “Australian Oil & Gas Exploration | A Road to Recovery?” Alongside Tamboran Resources’ Todd Abbott, Senator Susan McDonald (Shadow Minister for Resources and Northern Australia), Jane Norman from Amplitude Energy, and facilitator Samantha McCulloch of Australian Energy Producers, Trevor shared Omega’s perspective on the renewed momentum in the Australian exploration sector and Omega’s work in the Taroom Trough.

Western Downs Regional Council Quarterly Catch Up

Trevor Brown sat down with the Western Downs Regional Council for a quarterly update, keeping local government informed on Omega’s progress and what the coming months of drilling activity will mean for the region. TSBE Miles Enterprise Evening

Omega Oil and Gas Limited CEO & MD Trevor Brown was proud to share Omega’s story at Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise‘s sold-out event last week, with more than 200 people from over 100 businesses coming together at the Miles Historical Village Museum. Trevor walked through OMA’s positive early results from the Taroom Trough and the role abundant, affordable energy continues to play in underpinning Australia’s prosperity. Equally valuable were the contributions from Scott Hellewell on Arrow Energy‘s Surat Gas Project North, and Gerard Coggan of the Office of the Coordinator-General, who outlined the recently authorised Works Regulation for the Taroom Trough Development Plan and how the CG’s office is coordinating planning to provide a strategic whole-of-basin framework, enabling orderly, efficient and responsible development of oil and gas resources. These events are a powerful reminder of what’s possible when industry, government and regional communities work together, and conversations throughout the evening reinforced the role the resources sector continues to play in supporting local economies and Australia’s broader energy future. A huge thank you to TSBE for bringing the right people into the room, to Mayor Andrew Smith and the Western Downs Regional Council, along with the Miles community, for making everyone so welcome.

At a time when Australia is facing increased fuel supply pressure, the discussion reinforced two clear messages from industry: Streamlined approvals are critical. Projects need timely decisions supported by consistent policy settings that can maintain investor confidence. Hannaford Community Campdraft 2026

Great to be part of the Hannaford Community Campdraft. Omega was proud to sponsor the event’s ambulance service again this year, helping support the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved, from competitors and volunteers to families and spectators. Omega Announced as Preferred Tenderer for ATP 2081 (formerly PLR2025-1-9)

Today at Parliament, Omega Oil and Gas Limited met with The Honourable Dale Last MP following the Queensland Government’s announcement of the Omega-led joint venture as the preferred tenderer for a substantial new land area in the Taroom Trough for oil and gas exploration. We’re excited to take the next steps and continue working with stakeholders and local communities as the process progresses.
